In Her Words

“OK. Looking at this photo. I just feel proud.

I just I think with everything going on, we’ve all just had a lot of time and I think just for myself personally, I’ve been thinking a lot about like the nobility of the work that I do. The importance of it, how it fits into my life and and fits into the life of the people that I’m connected to.

And just thinking about all those hard or those big questions, it feels comforting to still see this photo from from four years ago and still have it make me proud or illicit emotions of happiness and excitement. And just to remember, I guess, how transformative setting goals and and having aspirations are.

This particular experience resulted in me being an Olympian. But I would say it doesn’t necessarily remind me of being an Olympian. It reminds me of work. A lot of work, a lot of miles, just a lot of mental work. And just self work.

And yeah, I really just feel reminded about the… Just how much it takes to put together a body of work that creates the opportunity for your dreams to come true.

And I don’t know, I guess just running at this point right now doesn’t feel so comparatively important to to everything that’s going on. But this photo, again, on top of a lot of things, just reminds me that there still is time and space for this for these type of moments to be important.

And shapeshifting to my life and hopefully the lives of people that I’m connected to.”
